That got moist underfoot!

I'm going to have to go look at my maps, because I don't know that route really.  Something to explore in future, perhaps.

On a drier day, mind ;D

There some interesting bridleways around Bell Hill which get you off the tarmac for a hour or so clarion well worth doing on sunny day.

Southlakes, you've done it again!  Coincidentally, I passed the Hornby Tearooms (excellent) on a road ride yesterday but I'd already re-fuelled down in Scorton.  I never knew how interesting Lowgill is, although I've been through at least twice on my way over Lythe Fell to Cross of Greet and Slaidburn.  A further coincidence: I'm from Teesside, where Botton Head is the highest point on the North York Moors.

Just one thing - you say "click here" for gps track but there isn't a "here".  Am I missing something?

Thanks again!

Peter

Hi Peter,

The gps track route will be up on my routes website later on this evening it does take a bit time to do!

Yes the Lowgill area is a interest area for Winter rides at this time of year, as you get off the beaten track.

with regards

Simeon

Thanks, Simeon.  That looks like it was hard work!  How do you get to the Stone Garth Cafe?  I've always used the Meadowside.

I love the Dent & Sedbergh area, and you've chosen some good bridleways round there.

Is that the modelling shoot for a fashion spread featuring the RSF jersey, by the way? ;D

I feel sure that I recognise that second photo location.
IIRC I parked my bike, with others otp,on that pavement & crossed the street into a cafe on Peli's Pendle ride a few years ago.The one where her utterlyluvverly mum rode part way on the canal towpath.
I'd forgotten that I've apparently been to Sedbergh.

Peter the Stone Garth Cafe is on same road as the Meadowside Cafe but near the Dent Village Centre.

Clarion it was wet under foot on second bridleway which is best done after several weeks of dry weather!

It did look rather on the damp and muddy side.  But I guess that's what anyone would expect of a December roughstuff ride.

A pleasant ride, and well chosen, given the weather.

You forgot to take your bicycles! :o

Nice walk, though - my ex-girlfriend's favourite stroll when we lived in Morecambe.

Wow, that looks wet!  I'm not surprised it was hard to get the motivation, but I'm impressed that you rode it anyway.  I don't know Longsleddale, but that photo of the tree is stunning.  I do need a trip to the Lakes some time.
