I just had a serious cuteness overload while visiting ~~two kittens~~ my parents and their two new(ish) kittens. They were born on May 1st, & are now in that lean, lithe, leggy stage of kittenhood, where they are hyperactive & excessively agile, hurtling up walls & bouncing off ceilings. They're now kittens who peep out from behind curtains - over the top, having climbed up the other side.

But I forgot to check the battery in my camera. One picture, & it died.

The old cat hates 'em. She avoids them, & whenever they try to make friends she has a hissy-snarly fit.

That's a very cute canal boat kitten, but I've recently become biased in favour of mostly white underside with coloured fur on top cats.

Just to be pedantic, a tortoiseshell cat has no white, and the colouring arises due to a genetic trait.

Bledlow's cat is a 'calico' or 'tortoiseshell and white'. But very cute all the same....

One of a pair that my parents got recently. Born May 1st. They have a sibling in Lincolnshire. All the same colouring. The other one of the pair has a bigger black patch on the face, & the patterns on their bodies are easily distinguished.

They've not ventured off the boat yet, so haven't discovered what happens when they jump for the bank & miss. It'll come.

Most of their waking hours are spent in energetic play. Lots of play fighting with each other & anyone who'll give them a hand to fight (they know to hold back with claws & teeth), chasing small movable things, etc. They've found perches (one a shelf formerly occupied by CDs which have had to find a new home) from which they can watch the world outside. Very quickly overcame their caution & made friends with Mrs B & me. Purr very loudly.
