Yeah, he's young - he's grown visibly in the last couple of weeks.  Too young to be allowed out if you ask me, especially having observed his lack of road sense.   :hand:

He's got long hair - there's surprisingly little cat under all that - and a spectacular tail (that's natural resting fluffiness, not excited bushy tail mode), so I wouldn't be surprised if he grows up to be very Kai-like.

He's quite friendly and extremely curious - he climbed all over the bike trailer a couple of weeks ago while I was hitching it up, and I've seen him approaching random students as they walk past outside.  And he followed barakta into the house when she came home from work this evening and ran around exploring.
With regard to wood not being straight, what do you expect trying to make things out of a dead vegetable!

Cats seem to have surprisingly little road sense.  You'd think rapid evolution would have forced them to have some!  Talisker, a totally black cat, used to favour sleeping in the middle of the road in warm weather like this.

A black cat, on a black road.

I used to put the highest vis reflective collars I could find on him, and wondered about putting velcro retroflectives on his paws, but decided they wouldn't last very long!  I seriously wondered if you could produce some sort of retroflective or fluorescent pet shampoo, that could make a cat glow in the dark. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

It's not helped by our road suddenly becoming a rat-run, due to emergency water main works on the Bristol Road in the middle of Silly Oak.  Yes, the same bit of road they've spent the last couple of years building a bypass round...

Fortunately they come with cats eyes factory fitted  ;D
I think evolution has ensured that cats have lots of sex and get pregnant early enough that by the time Darwin strikes they have already left a dozen replacements!

Gash the Cat by Andrew Wood Photo, on Flickr

This is Gash the Cat. He is a stray who hangs out at Press On Dry Cleaning, next door to the studios in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. He seems to be a good guard cat! He is so named because when the proprietors of the dry cleaning business met him, he had a nasty cut all the way along his side. As you can see, he is very well fed and made very welcome.

I don't think any of you should let your cats watch this in case they start to demand you make one for them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce you to young Wiggins?

Sadly not mine, but my nieces'. She was known as "Mo" for a day, but I guess the Tour de France made more of an impression than the Olympics.

Can a (female) cat grow sideburns? ;D

I love the mottled colouring of Torties, she looks like she's tricoloured.  Very cute.

Somehow you just 'know' that is Becky's cat.

The purposeful stance and the look that says 'It's OK. Whatever engineering problem you had, I'm here now and I can sort it.'
I am the one who guided you this far,
All you know and all you feel.
Nobody must know my name
For nobody would understand,
And you kill what you fear.

No1Daughter's dad came home this morning with a stiff flattened body. She's had a shit weekend (her bag was nicked last night, too).

Poor Zuko. Less than a year old.  :(
