Who's up for this one ?

The hatlers are stuck at home in London this weekend so I should be up for the whole run.

I predict a big one.

I'm still trying to decide whether to do this or the WARTY.  Much as I'd like to, I don't think there's any way I could do both!
Actually, it is rocket science.

Put me down as it will give me the excuse to really try out my new bike

I'm in, plus one or possibly two. Have emailed Simon of the Bandaged Knee too, to avoid the debacle that was the Southend ride being full.

How do you register these days?

Email Simon using fnrttc@yahoo.co.uk with your CTC membership number (if you have one) and your mobile number.

I'm also in after a chat with Simon. But most of you don't know me, so I kind of feel like I'm intruding (I've been lurking quietly on here for the last few weeks....).......

Anyway, this will be my first ride with any meaningful hills (this is my 3rd FNRttC, but both of the others have been to Southend, hence the discussion with Mr Legg Bandage). Over the next few weeks I will mostly be fashioning a lasso so that someone can unwittingly drag me up the hills....  ;D

Hello again Pippa.

There are only a couple of hilly bits on the Brighton run, one is about as bad as Bread and Cheese Hill, which you've done on the Southend run, and the other is Ditchling, which I'm afraid is a bit of a git, about one mile of one in ten, with some false tops (ie you think you're at the top, but you're not).  It doesn't really matter if you get off and walk Ditchling, since most people don't go an awful lot faster than walking pace when they cycle up it, and all the people knackered at the top, and having a rest, give you plenty of time to get up the hill!
Actually, it is rocket science.

I'd recommend DanB for this role.

Tim,Simon and I are off for a pootle tomorrow to sort catering venues. The current plan is to use a Scout hut in or near Horley to allow a sizeable number to graze, which is not possible currently chez moi. I am hoping for the full TT catering experience, but there is some discussion ongoing re a donation this time towards the costs of the hut, etc, as well as a possible top-up towards something like the CDF. Watch this space.

Ditto.  We have been abusing your hospitality for too long so it is only fair and decent that we should contribute to costs.

Pippa, the FNRttC and YACF in general isn't an exclusive club and you are most welcome.

The FNRttC in May 2006 was my first and introduced me to Simon Legg and ACF (forerunner of YACF), I haven't looked back since.  I have done a Southend run and a few Brighton runs.  For me the Brighton run is a classic as it includes Ditchling Beacon which is a git of a hill but has only beaten me once.  My strategy is to cycle up it as slowly as possible.

As I have said before, the FNRttC is the most fun you can have at night with your clothes on.

+1. More than happy to contribute (TT's efforts are indeed legendary, looking forward to seeing/eating them for the first time!).

Just back from scoping out two Scout huts with Mr. L3, TT and Jurek.

The first was thought good, if not very good.

Then we saw the second. It's big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly mindbogglingly big it is.

And it's got a big cooker.

And lots of chairs.

And tables.

It's very very good indeed.

And we saw some wallabies.
