LEl - Ride Friday? Saturday?
« on: 22 July, 2009, 04:45:04 pm »
Anyone up for a short out-and-back ride along the start of the course?

Brickendon is exactly 10km from the start,
and Hertford (A414 rbt) is exactly 15.0 km from the start.

ISTR a proposal for a beginners' ride, but can't see any details.

Might be fun - will be registering at 13:30 and getting the train down on the morning so would have to try to fit around that.  Friday no good for me.

I've heard the Brits knows how to make a pre-ride Fish (something that involves fried potatoes or some such) dish.

Is it anything like the Italian Version?

That branzino, delicious though it was, along with the painstakingly selected wines, took care of most of my budget for that week.

The average British chippy will be somewhat cheaper (but with the same amount of salt).

My registration is 14:45.
I'll be riding from NE London (E11,) and could accommodate to some extent.

I like the idea, but I reckon I'll be tied up checking in, finding the start, packing, registering, re-packing, fretting and going to the pub carbo-loading to do much cycling on Saturday.

Not sure what I am doing for dinner on Sat just yet. Might go to Waltham Abbey to meet some clubbies. Might stay more local.

But Wetherspoons and lyrca, shaved legs and suntan is a potent mixture. However I think armed with a northern accent will be enough to start a fight.  perhaps I should take some civvies too.

Doing so will require a bicycle and the ability to ride it, some of which are in doubt.  However:
