LEL - So what's happening at the start?

Apart from organised chaos?

Well, firstly, try and register on time, it does help.

One registered you will collect your brevet card which gives you acces to all the goodies and  souvenirs.

YOU WILL HAVE TO SIGN FOR THESE AND YOU CANNOT TAKE ANYONE ELSES'

Once you have registered you can  write in your own start time on the set off sheet - riders set off every 15 mins - and no, I am not allocating them in advance cos folk have a habit of not turning up on time!

It will be pretty self explanatory when you arrive- get there, wander round looking lost, head for a cup of tea, spot registration desk, take it from there.

Please remember to put your rubbish in the bins

There is no smoking in the hostel and we are limiting it to  specified outdoor areas where there are bins for tab ends.  yes, some cyclists smoke as do I.  Please do not have a crafty fag round the back of the bike sheds.

Prices for  snacks at registration.
(food is only included once you have set off on LEL)

tea and coffee and hot choc 50p (10 oz cups)
cakes £1,
biscuits 50p,
crisps 50p
sarnies £2
wine gums chocolates etc 50p.

cans of coke etc are in the machine in the hostel entrance at £1.

Thanks Mel.

Will the facilities (e.g. food retail) be open all Saturyday afternoon?

(Those of us turning up at odd times [with no TdeF coverage available] could do with somewhere to refuel/socialize. )

They will be open during registration and close about 8pm

The bar is open later.

This will also be available on sunday for those  waiting to set off. 8am to 2pm.
