Peli and woolly winter pootle - Dec. 5th 2009.
« on: 21 October, 2009, 11:15:10 pm »
Hello !!

Well I had some time off to take off and quickly plotted the free days on a weekend, since we don't get to see each other that much on the weekends. So to mark this special occasion we will be doing another Peli and woolly pootleTM in London town.

Place : Outside the White Horse in/on Parsons Green
Route : the route, 12'ish miles of fun
Time : 10:30am.
Stops : yes
Finish : sometime in the arvo.

Ok here is the route, 12'ish miles of fun, I hopefully check the route tonight also a chance to check out my new lights :)

But for sure I will check it out the Friday before, but will stick to this as much as possible.

Lunch will be at The Ship in Mortlake, a regular stopping point for London based yacf, food is pretty good and there is plenty of space to park our bicycles. Just hope that the Thames is not flooding over that day.

There will be a stop just north of Kew Bridge, need Charlotte to guide us there, to have a look at the sustainable "hippy" camp if it is still there, to see what there are on about.

There will be a wee stop at the end at Putney Bridge at the rather nice Café in Fulham SW6 by the river called Pryors Bank [Pryors Bank Café]

Ooh me! And probably a friend, if it's lowish mileage you're planning.

Put me down as interested, too.  'Specially if it involves coffee and cake.

Can I bring my Dad? He loved the last one, despite having a massively embarrassing clipless moment...

If she will I will :D

(I find it far easier to ride fixed in The Countryside than in London traffic.  But I'm getting better.)

Mmmmm :-\
£36-ish return fare Stoke/Euston.Not too shabby.

Is it easy to get from Euston to where the ride starts from by bike?
How long does it take by bike?
What time do you imagine the ride will get back?

AND.....is it rideable by a lazy, unfit bloke on a fixed wheel? aka FLAT

This is the ride which Wolly and Peli did with Peli's Mum, and a load of us back in November of last year.  This route is the extended one, when a group of us went in search of MikeWendy, unsuccessfully.
Actually, it is rocket science.

I'd love my Mum to come down again, and I'd particularly like to take her along the river to Hampton Court.

Um, don't suppose the London pootle on Dec 5th could be/include marshalling a ride from a suburb to parliament  to the Wave  The Wave | Stop Climate Chaos Coalition ?

I'm hoping LCC will work with me to arrange rides along the line of the rides to S*yride - but without the need to involve S*y or the Greater London Authority.

More info hopefully tomorrow, but thought I might flag it up!
Islington, Southwark, Wandsworth, Lambeth and Merton LCC groups are likely to have rides currently,

Charlie

I'll be arriving at LHR that morning after approximately 23 hours in Cattle Class.  While I'm not altogether cheered by this prospect, it does mean I'll be in London.  Well, near enough, anyway...

So put me down as "tempted".  Emily has expressed an interest, too.

Maybe we should come down First Class with Virgin. £1560 return for the two of us and the bikes for free seems like a real bargain.  :o

Crikey.  Even after dividing by two, that makes my flights to/from a conference in Melbourne seem pretty reasonable...

But I think I'll win on the jetlag front.  As Woolly says, some cycling should help though  :).
