Cut the yellow. NO! The BLUE!!!
« on: 10 August, 2010, 01:05:21 pm »
I've not been able to use my ovens for yonks due to some sort of clock timer failure  resulting in the automatic ignition not working.
I've just spent hours getting the fascia off (amazed at how much of the cooker had to be dismantled to do that)
I've found the old service manual and looked at the timer wiring diagram.  It's much too simple and does not show anything like the mass of wires going in and out of the timer board.  It would appear that to short circuit the clock, I need to short a yellow and a brown wire.  The only problem is, which brown and which yellow?  ???
I've identified the likely candidates  :o and am now off to the shed to find a bit of wire and two spade connectors.

I'll check in later to let you know that I've not burned the house down.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Blimey!  It works.  8)

Now to tidy up quickly before Mrs. B gets in so that I can pretend that I called "a man" in, which is what she wanted me to do.

Funny, that.  I was thinking of you as I cautiously poked around the guts of the thing.
I didn't do it in true Nutty style though.  I remembered to disconnect the power first.  ;D

Yeah.  :)  Guess who I was going to PM if I couldn't find the correct connectors in the shed.  :)
