PBP - Doing a 400 or 600 as the 300 qualifier?
« on: 29 April, 2011, 08:19:30 pm »
Pre-entered PBP since I did a BRM 600 last year, but not yet sure to go
through with it. Won't be able to do the BRM 300k I entered tomorrow
that was the potential 300k qualifier. Read a post here longer rides
can count for shorter ones for qualification. Couldn't find confirmation
of that on the PBP site.

Is that the case, that one can do longer ones for shorter ones?

I've entered in a 400k two weeks from now. That's in the time window
overlapping 300k and 400k qualifiers. So what I wonder is if I do another
400 next weekend or three weeks for now, will those two rides count
as the 300 and 400 qualifiers? Of course I'd need to do the 600 as well
in June then.

Yeah, my understanding is you can qualify with any longer event so long as it is a BRM. Someone is doing 4x 600km events to qualify  :o

But do you need to complete one qualifying event in each time 'slot' ?  :-\
LEL 2013 Events??:
PBP 2015 Qualifiers ??:

Time to look ahead.

My understanding is that the time slots are a guide and not absolute, so long as they are all done this year and by the end of qualifying  date and are all BRM. I'm sure someone very knowledgeable will be along to clarify this very soon.

Mine too. As discussed elsewhere, there have been cases of someone doing 4 x 600 over the final four weeks in order to qualify

Not sure how they managed to ride the event itself in a straitjacket, but that's another story

As long as the events are marked BRM [PBP] in the calendar and you have the minimum 2,3,4 & 600 you're OK. So 200, 400, 400 & 600 is fine.

Is the DNS on the 300 because you're still sore after the Arrow incident ? Hope you recover soon.

Thanks Andy. Yes, recovery well underway, but still a bit too sore. So unfortunately DNS for the Cambridge 300.

Vorsprung's Avalon 400 is a late and relatively benign 400. Probably less taxing than a very hilly 300.
