Yes, I had a text from Mr Priddy just before 5 confirming that they were there.

The next stage is quite lumpy.

Go go one and all!

Exmouth s a bit of a landmark and continuing from here presents an opportunity to  finish.

I reckon they have about an hour in hand. This was the climb out of Witham Friary about 10k after Nunney Catch, at about twenty past four.

Pete Mas, Andy P and Priddy all being shown how it's done by Els  ;)

Not forgetting the old hands and quicker riders who are doubtless finishing or finished (congratulations to all), but I can't help admiring the 4 tail enders, all of whom will be new Wessex SRs. I've put a bottle of fizz on ice to take to the finish, if anyone cares to come and join the toast.

Please 'raise a glass and shake the hand' ......... of all the finishers, but especially Els, for me! Chapeau to the lot of them. What a super weekend though and only a few hours of darkness :-)

Another Wessex wannabe here; I took the bike out and rode the route through the Tarrants, had a chat with Chris Beynon, then found the New Wessex SR group on the lanes south of Shaftesbury.

AndyP and Els topping the last climb

Priddy and PeteMas enjoying the ride down the Tarrant valley in the evening sunshine

Everybody seemed in good spirits; Andy seemed to be particularly enjoying himself. There was some question about Mel K who the group thought might be behind them. No other news on that front?

Congrats all.

Indeed.

I think Mr Priddy, Pete Mas, AndyP and Swarm_Catcher kept each other company for most of the ride.

Well done to the new WSRs. Veloboy, Simon G and I finished a few hours ago and now back in the Smoke. We lost Parky at Nunney Hatch as he stopped in the village for an ice cream and perhaps few Zzzzzs. He and Chris B won't have been far behind us.

No doubt everyone will have encountered difficult periods on such a ride. To come through them and finish is a real achievement.

Parky finished at about 5, I found him sleeping like a baby  ;D

Followed by Priddy

then Pete Mas, who went straight to Shawn's, no photo opportunity (avoiding the paparazzi)

and then AndyP & Els

Shawn bought the badges round to the finish

And just when we thought the party was over Mel turned up!

Mags, glasses were raised and hands were shaken. Congratulations to all the new Wessex SRs, now I just need to get fit enough to join you!
