I was looking at winter tops and discounting them being needed. Nope.

The rest of Tandem Insanity will be headed from west suffolk via essex, cambs, herts, northants, leics, notts, lincs, humberside and the east riding.

I'll be packing their snacks, checking they've got their gloves & waving them off with a small tear in my eye.

good news, I forget stuff every time

on the winter clothing thing, as a short and furious commuter I don;t really do winter togs, my serene comfort on the Squit on what was a cold and wet day has me planning to repeat my outfit of shorts with two layers and a gillet on top, doubtless to the horror of all who see me, it's bloody warm on the back of iddu's tandem

erm, just how poor is the weather forecast, I first read of the arrows with a hot cup of tea, listening to bad weather outside while aghast at the tales of every single team packing barring Willesden who seemed to have left earliest and just stayed ahead of the weather

It's going to be 9-10 degrees during the day, and possibly down to zero at night.

In the dark, all views are the same.

Sleet forecast Friday night at Lincoln with gusty northerley - great. Should be good for the complexion.

The Wessex Wonderers (yes Wonderers, we'll be wondering why when it's freezing cold, into a headwind, and the garage owners won't open their doors) route looks like this.

Sleet in Lincoln is OK. As long as it doesn't go anywhere else.

says who, really? (the weather that is, not your order) have just ordered leg warmers, fingers crossed they arrive in time from the normally reliable chain reaction types

every forecast I look at says no lower than 4-6c overnight and 10-11 in the day time

I checked various points on our route; it looks like Dorset will be v.cold early morning (-2ish), :( but as we get further north (and the sun comes up!) it will get more sensible. :)

Sadly we'll probably get some rain Friday night. :( Hopefully not much :)

The weather will be good.  No need to check.  There will be no chance of Northerly winds for southern starting teams and no chance of Southerly winds for Northern English/Scottish teams.

At least, that's how I understood the arrangement when I paid the the entry fee...

Sodding hell.  I took this from the bus this morning on the way to work. This is halfway between york and leeds.

Contemplating a change of tyre - currently have 2" slicks on the bike, roll very nicely, but they are utterly useless on slush. Might put the paselas back on, at least they have a little tread.

It'll be gone by the morning, don't worry

so maybe down to freezing Fri night with a  chance of showers?

new leg warmers and overshoes, I wouldn't want to be on the sharp end of the tandem but suspect I'll be loosening clothing in the back seats

as long as i can find the other warm merino long sock, after that it;s all summer socks, I had it a week and a half ago so it has to be somewhere in the house

Ages. Usually a good few months.
Part of the delay this year is our fault- there are issues with Tandem Insanity.

Much more fun doing it to dodgy disco music in a fboab sylee ;D
