Theres a good site all about Tarpology and what you can do with them >>HERE<<

if you follow the article to the end you can download the plans as a jpeg, used a few of these while camping out with the canoe and they work very well

Canardly,

Did you go ahead with your tarp? Any pictures if you did?

We are thinking along the same lines re a cooking area for our small tent.  I've been looking at the DD Hammocks ones, and swithering whether the small one (2.8x1.8m) would be just too small......

Thanks

I initially suspected that it would be too big but took the view that what can hold a lot can hold a little

Crystal Tips:
Wow, it's huge, we might be able to fit the whole tent under it  ;D

Seriously, thanks, your photos are much clearer than the ones on the website, you can judge the size easier in a garden than hanging from a tree in a forest!

I am now thinking the small one would be fine for a cooking shelter......

Decathlin do what looks to be a good value tarp set up:  http://www.decathlon.co.uk/tarp-khaki-shelter-id_2363223.html

It even comes with poles.
