Not very familiar with edinburgh, whats the best way from east end of princes street to haymarket just now that shandwick place is shut ? by bike obviously. thanks

I'd head up North Bridge, along the royal mile, past the castle and then on to Lothia Road.

MercuryKev:
...or you could just ride up George Street.

sg37409:
Getting along princes st is fine, can either do george st or princes st.
But have either to go N or S of shandwick. Bridges/Royla mile is an option, but was hoping there is other option bit more bike friendly.
Prob best to come down morrison street, can you cut along rutland sq / canning st ?  Or best to go up lothian rd and then down morrison ?

If you want less traffic head up the royal mile, round the castle and then down Morrison Street. I must admit that I cycle so much in Edinburgh city centre that I tend to just take the shortest route.
