Wise to be cautious, considering that man's current location. Is he using local conditions as a relative measure?

Deano:
The A68 over Carter Bar and down as far as Consett is the old Roman road. Those lads didn't go round hills. It's the high road to Scotland.

There's a 15% coming away from the Derwent, but nowt else as steep as that. They just keep coming as you cross all the rivers flowing from the Pennines. If you go west of it, the hills are steeper, or if you ride east, you dodge the hills at the expense of more complicates routing.

'Hilly' is a relative term, its hard to know how hilly is hilly!!

Even I can do a "Deano hilly".
I sometimes use a 24" gear tho.

Translation: It's fucking Hilly. Use a granny ring, and expect to SWEAT.

Lady Cavendish:
LOL. Well I was quite happy with the whole Cornwall thing, and the Yorkshire Dales thing, how does it compare to that?

I much prefer lots and long and not so steep as those horrid vertical things
