:'(     I don't listen to much of my old rock collection these days, but the groups this chap played in were the soundtrack to my teens.  Saw him play once with Whitesnake and also at the Deep Purple reunion at Knbeworth in 1985.

clarion:
Sad.  A fairly unsung talent in bands full of clashing egos.

Oranj:
Jeez, I'm sad. Machine Head, and Jon Lord's fantastic Hammond organ sound on "Lazy" in particular, have been a mainstay of my listening collection since I was a boy.

spesh:
Oh ****, my guess as to why Planet Rock were re-running the John Lord episode of the My Planet Rocks strand was unfortunately correct.  :(

Singing Child in Time is the way I keep myself awake when I get the dozies on an all-night Audax.  First ever gig I went to was Deep Purple on the start of their 1984-5 world tour in Sydney.

A true loss.   :(
