What was the last film you watched?
Hillbilly:
Super 8.
Wasn't sure what to expect. Found the story a bit average, but the acting was engaging. And some of the set pieces were well done.
Lindagordinho:
Your Sister's Sister starring Crusty's girlfriend Emily Blunt. A truly funny romantic comedy. It has cycle camping in it. But there is also a traumatic scene of horrific bike abuse. Crusty said "I haven't seen you this upset since Schindler's List". Poor bikey.
Anyway it's really good and has some fab improvised dialogue and nice autumn scenery. Recommend you see it.
Morrisette:
That Batman thing. It was alright. It's not really my cup of tea but Mr M liked it.
But the trailers! We saw four trailers for upcoming new films. I say 'new'. We had:
Dredd - a remake of Judge Dredd
Man of Steel - a remake of Superman
Total Recall - a remake of, well, Total Recall, completely without irony
Loopers - a man comes from the future to kill himself in the past, basically, Terminator with Bruce Willis and less robots.
Someone needs to write some new stories.....
clarion:
You thought the stories were original as films first time round? :o

Seems to be a of a Marmite film, I enjoyed it, Mrs T less so.

Apparently this is closer to the comic than the camp Sly Stallone one (I swear I saw a row of pink chiffon tents in that one)

Dear god, NO! It's been done to death, on big screen and small, just give it a rest, like Spiderman, it's run it's course.

Hmmm, might be ok, probably won't

The big studios are resting on their laurels, they know what sells and so will do it to death (look a the dearth of Jaws clones in the late '70's and early '80's for comparison). The Studios are getting very risk averse, as they tend to in tight economic times. This is bad for the average cinema goer.
