poor pramod - email from a team in India

I love working with India, but sometimes they catch you by surprise.  One of my teams has just sent this mail to the client.

John just called me to pass on his best regards and to say thanks for the level of detail...

Hi John,

Hope you are doing well.

This is to inform you that Pramod will not be able to come to office today and entire next week as he has to undergo surgery for haemorrhoids. The problem was diagnosed yesterday and he will be undergoing the surgery tomorrow. He will be required to take 5-6 days rest to recover fully.

Please let me know in case of anything urgent.

Regards,
Saurabh

I know it's no laughing matter, but  ;D

It's a bit of a pain in the arse, but at least they told you, and didn't just sit on the problem.

My boss has earnestly informed me twice now, that he used to really enjoy cycling, sometimes as much as 30 miles, but he had to stop due to his piles...

Thanks for that

Clarion, that should have been my reply.

No cultural differences with my boss. Unless you count those between Geordies and Londoners  ;D
