I sent a correction to the Today programme today...

Oh God!  My green ink phase is beginning.

I was listening to the Today programme this morning, when there was an item about permanent membership of the UN Security Council.  The reporter* got the place of the first meeting of the UN General Assembly and where the UN Charter was signed wrong, saying it was San Francisco. I was sad enough to e-mail in and correct them  :-[

I am turning into a grumpy old man.  :'(

*Then again, so does the UN.  It's web-site says San Francisco when those who know the true history of the UN (i.e. the non-US-centric version) know it was actually London ...

clarion:
Was it Methodist Central Hall?  I seem to remember a plaque to that effect on the side.

The Charter was first signed in the Watermans Room of the Port of London Authority Building at Tower Hill (next door to Trinity House) and the first General Assembly was indeed held at Methodist Central Hall.
