Summer pudding
« on: 16 July, 2008, 10:01:07 pm »
This morning, the littlun and I went fruit picking.  We had great fun, but she was bright red by the time we left as she kept helping herself to raspberries (not so impressed with strawberries today, and red currants produced a very funny face).  This evening I made a summer pudding, and it's now sitting under weights on the kitchen table looking all purple and lovely.  Can't wait until tomorrow to eat it!

What's your favourite thing to do with fruit at this time of year?

Summer pudding! Of course!

Just be patient. Prepare the base carefully. Thoughtful layering, and waiting. It really is the best!

Lots of cream, but only if you have a long ride first!

Well, I hate to come back to boast, but we ate the summer pudding tonight and it was lovely.  Just about tart enough, really oozy with all the fruit and lovely with some greek yogurt.  Even littlun ate it - bit messy though, she's only just learning how to use a spoon.

We've got loads of plums - crumble on Saturday or Sunday?
