Foodie Quiz

...from the Grauniad.

Let's set aside the bent courgettes, the 'organic' slanging-match debate, etc. etc., for just half a mo', and try your hand at this.

Me?  errr... 17/40.  Barely better than pure random answers.  Evidently for all the mouthing off, I'm no foodie... :-[ :-[ :-[

14/40. I knew one for certain, the rest were mostly educated guesses!

15.  I knew a couple of answers, had a couple of educated guesses and  a lot stabs in the dark.  I fail to see the connection between food knowledge and the interests of chefs!
What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!

18/40, which is not bad for someone whose idea of haute cuisine is eating a BACON sandwich up a mountain.

19/40 A lot of questions weren't about food though but the personal lives of celebrity chefs.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

31, on food and quotations, guesses for everything else.

I am not a foodie! What went wrong?

Mr Goatpebble, you are most certainly verging on foodie-ness from what I've witnessed here!  :)

I got 21/40. A better show than that physics test someone posted a while ago, but with similar levels of guessing.

I don't like the quiz, and I don't like my score. Perhaps I am sulking!

So, if I am sulking, then I have to explain. Good food should not be about point scoring. I suspect that some of the lowest scorers in this thread are probably good instinctive cooks, and better than I am at meeting the needs of their friends and families, with good stuff, however unfashionable.

I do not like the idea of silly foodie stuff alienating people from learning. If I approach food from a certain point of view, having been partly brought up outside the UK, then what I have to say should always be qualified by the principal of good use, of practicality and helpfulness.

Now let's ask Clarion, cos he has a very good score!

25/40.  Was hoping I'd do better, but actually I know bugger all about chefs.  Cooking, yes; cheffery and all that flouncing around and sleb lifestyle stuff, no.
