Rechargeable battery suppliers (for baby monitor)

My daughter needs a new battery for their baby monitor. It's a Fluoreon monitor. The battery is a thin, square one with an electrical connector. It's an EU053337P 2.775Wh / 750mAh / 3.7V to be specific.

I can find some monitor batteries on Amazon but nothing this shape. Are there any good specialist suppliers of this kind of thing? A lot of monitors seem to use battery packs made up from AAAs or AAs, but not this one - it's significantly thinner even than AAAs would be.

Edit: this one I think, but no connector on that and I'm not sure about Ali Express.

Ali Express is fine.  It's just an eBay-like tool for randoms to sell you things they can get a deal on at the Shenzhen market.

Usual China rules apply: You get what you pay for, shipping is slow, descriptions eccentric.

Aliexpress are generally fine. Assuming you are happy with a couple of things:

1) It is not fast. in fact it's really slow at times. On Friday I got a package I ordered on 2020-04-26. I also got a package the same day that I had ordered 2020-07-04. I currently have 50 packages in various states of travel from Aliexpress to me. It's basically xkcd://576.

2) You may get a dud. I've had one package out of about 200 total orders over 4 years. I flagged it, and the refunded it in full.

3) Finding the right search term can be hard. The item you want is probably there, but it may be named in American, or with a typo, or you may need to find it among 500 other seemingly identical, but not quite right parts.

Try adding "JST" to your search term for that battery.

The ref No.on these Lithium batteries is the dimensions  053337= 05mm x 33mm x 37mm.  I think the same one is in my micro drone.

Don't suppose you know any good drone suppliers who might have one? So far Ali Express is the only source, but two months' delivery is a long time in the life of a baby!

Two months on Ali Express is often around two weeks in reality.

Thanks. I've ordered from Ali Express anyway, as the cost is low and having two, should I find a quicker supplier, won't really be an issue. I liked the bit where they offered DHL in 7-15 days for just over £55

Unfortunately I've measured up, and that alternative just isn't going to fit. I've also sent an enquiry to Floureon, obviously.

I've learned something about JST connectors anyway. Not a term I knew. And Ali Express wanted to know (rather reasonably) what connector size; turns out they do offer various connector options. I got 3.5mm first time, which isn't an available option for those connectors, so I had to look it up - only then did I realise that it's the pin pitch and not the outside dimensions that you measure

Could you live with a larger battery until the correct one arrives? Almost any Lithium-Ion battery would work, and I've got some batteries that wouldn't fit but might have the right connector. I've also got the sockets, so the wires could be cut off the dead battery and soldered onto the socket to make an adaptor.

I know the battery-held-on-with-gaffer-tape isn't a good look, but the baby won't mind and won't be handling the monitor, only crying at it.

Edit: a bit dim, but it's only just occurred to me to test running it directly off the mini USB charging port. Which works of course. So if they can put it near a power source (can't remember where the sockets are, I'll ask), then, as they say, Robert is your mother's brother.

You could run if from a power bank, one or two of which may be kicking around.

Note that the baby monitor may not take enough current to keep the power bank turned on. Many will turn off after a while if little current is taken. It's worth testing especially in that application.

I've been running it now for 12 hours from a power bank, mostly because I forgot about it overnight, so that seems an excellent workaround while we wait for the delivery. Thanks very much for the suggestion.

Actually I'm surprised it went for that long, because I didn't even think that the power bank had any charge!

I’m glad it works.

On the duration, the power bank that I have here is rated at 6700mAh, around 10 times the original battery, so even with converter losses, it’s not too much of a surprise that it kept going.
