Saw this on a Fb post: http://www.hpvelotechnik.com/presse/recumbents_with_pinion_integration_e.html

I wonder if they'll offer it as an after market add on. I could couple it with my rholoff and have 168 gears then

ISTR that a firm was offering replacement booms with Pinion 'boxes as an aftermarket purchase a while back...
***googles***
Not sure if this is the same one: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.velomo.eu%2Fbikeparts%2Fpinion&sandbox=1
I have a P1.18 on an MTB and I'm a huge fan.

I don't need help like this. I'm perfectly capable of upsetting my wife without suggestions like this. Really.
Goes off muttering about 'helpful' people and their relationship challenging 'helpful suggestions'
:P ;)

With an aftermarket Pinion I'd probably ditch my Rohloff/HSD and get a hub motor instead.
That way I'd keep the hub gears with the motor.
If needed you could then use something like an 11-34 back cassette to fine tune the range of gears wanted.

Fastolfe on BROL has a Pinion P1.18 & 11 speed rear derailleur on his Quattrovelo velomobile. 198 speed....

Increasingly bizarre designs?
I will see your design with an HSD, Rohloff and mid drive motor?

I've thought about doing something like that but it's not simple.
As I've already pulled the back boom out ~6" to fit the hardshell seat in it's most reclined position, I probably cannot safely pull it any further out.
So I don't think I've got enough room behind the seat to fit a motor.

pinions on QVs have been breaking - I believe Velomobiel.nl aren't fitting them any more.
My chum Detlef's broke after 2 months.
