Watch the video again. At about 40s he looks around to ask if anyone has a light and when it appears that no one does he drops the flag

That ranks closely with my all time favourite (if anybody can find it).   Top of a climb, fans crowding in across the road and it's getting dangerous for the riders.  One lunges in and gets a riders fist in the face that laid him out backwards.  The commentators (Phil and Shaun IIRC ) were in full praise.

Am I the only one who feels a leedle sorry for this guy? I mean, he's made a lot of effort with his stupid costume, and he's not doing any harm - unlike so many of the 'fans' that get in the way on the big climbs.

Perhaps if he'd had a devil's pitch fork instead of a US flag you'd all love him?
