Indeed, lack of taurine and protein. Didn't seem to affect her physically, she just wasn't very bright!

Looking at me with an expression that says 'I'd like a soddige sandwich too'.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Not a pet but I can't find the cat good news thread so it can go here.

For the last 3 years a feral cat has spent a lot of time in my garden. It seemed to dissapear early last month and I assumed the worst had happened but he or she was back this morning looking in fairly good health.

Still pissing in the bath. It's a thing now, Bad Cat follows either of us into the bathroom and we do simultaneously wees. It's so disturbing that I've started to use the downstairs loo.

A catflap malfunction meant she was locked out the other night, I did not appreciate the 3.49 am wake-up call as she tried to claw the door open and yowled loudly. I can't imagine the rest of the town did either.

It's been dying for a while, I like the Sureflaps, but they seem to die after 8 years. They do an internet cat flap now so you can track them. There's an app! And a glowing cat-hub. My wife is a bit less impressed with technology and uttered the word why. Because because because.

Does that mean you have to get smartphones for the cats?

They already have smartphones. They're fourteen, we figured they were old enough.

Mind you, if they really did, I'd phone LMC who has yet to put in an appearance since we got home at 7 pm, which is a tad unusual, though sometimes she really does like sleeping and she might be in the top of the wardrobe, where they have a secret cat penthouse. She's nowhere else that I can find.

ETA: she lives. Yes, the secret penthouse.

Forget catnip

Peanut butter. That's the real cat crack.

This is hard to type, because I've just eaten some crackers with peanut butter on them. The cat is now chewing, licking and drooling on my fingers.

Not right now, but yesterday.

I'm in a meeting, getting information on technical issues and functions. Just two of us, I'm madly scribbling notes as the other person talks.

Until the cat decides to join me. Jumps onto desk, sits next to my notepad and decides that my writing is the best cat-toy ever. Paws wrap around my pen and try to yank it out of my fingers. This goes on for 10minutes while I try to write, listen and not collapse in giggles.

I swear, this is the clumsiest cat I've ever owned.

Previous cat at same age was running up the barge mast (terrifying us), swinging from the hatches. Just about walking on the ceiling.

This cat?

Falling off chairs, desk, steps, anything. Doesn't seem to notice edges to things.
When she jumps down, it is like a sack of rocks landing. You'd think she weighed 20 stone.

Well, for about a month she has been happily consuming the food supplied by the staff, including medication.
This week, NO, she won't eat her food at all.
This morning she dragged a rabbit though the cathatch and, as you do, started chewing the head end.
No chance of her eating her breakfast now, I thought.
So I syringed her meds (all 0.3ml of it) onto the chewed bit....
Head and meds gone, rest of rabbit dispatched.
Gottcha!

One cat is sitting on the back of the sofa, watching another cat wandering around the garden, and trying to decide whether he's in the mood for a fight. He's chased this one out several times in the past... but it's raining.

The other is curled up in a ball on my son's bed, fast asleep.

The fish are doing whatever fish do, repeatedly.

Bad Cat started micturating in the bath. Then something far worse. So I created an obstacle course out of bubble bath bottles. She hops up on the side of the bath, looks at my work, hops down, wanders over and into the shower and relieves herself.

Keep that up and you'll have her using the toilet.  Just don't teach her how to flush.

That's my hope. She's going to the vet anyway, but the issue was that she used to go in the garden, then for some reason she started using the litter tray inside, so LMC then started to use the litter tray inside too, so we got another litter tray, and then LMC started to use that litter tray too...

Litter trays =N+1 where n= number of cats, apparently.
Could just be a subtle power struggle between LMC and Bad Cat?
What sort of litter trays do you have? Our kitty shrink recommended the top entry ones where they are hidden from view.

To be fair to Bad Cat I'd be fairly sanguine about shits in the bath, having been on the receiving end of sprays on the doors, radiators, sofa, in front of the stove...

LMC and Bad Cat are several years into their power struggle*. If Bad Cat does something, LMC will want to do the same. I presume Bad Cat stopped using the garden because the foxes spooked her, so of course, LMC then had to start doing hers inside. We could fill the house with litter trays, I suppose. They do have the enclosed ones in the alcove under the stairs.

There are indeed worse places for her to do it, but what she's done there is not my favourite thought as I marinate in a sudsy bath on a Sunday evening.

*no idea, one day they were besties, the next, they hated each other.

There may be progress, I think she used one of the new litter trays (they have two brand new ones). Leastways, I hope it was Bad Cat, because if LMC* laid out one that big, oh my.

It was so much better when they used the garden.

*she puts the Little in Monster Cat. About 3 and a bit kilograms. Though she appears to think she's a big cat.

An interloper kitty came and sat in our front garden while Ninkasi was sitting in the window. She floofed and hissed at it but eventually moved away and sat down. Then Pumpkin sat in the window. When she eventually spotted the interloper she started howling the place down (really loudly). Pingu had to go out and escort the interloper from the premises.

The problem with LMC is that she thinks she's as big as the feline interlopers and she isn't. Nor does she have any teeth. That said, she fights like a demon and has claws that can shred steel.

"Thud!"

That was tilty-head-round-cat-on-a-diet as she dashed to the ration of biscuits that was about to be put in her bowl. The table leg survived the head-butt.
It is simpler than it looks.

Our cats are that size. After we got them our sense of cat sizes were recalibrated so that Mrs P's brother's average sized cats seemed ginormous.
