Wood ducks
« on: 04 August, 2010, 09:03:19 pm »
I spotted these on the coventry canal on my commute to work one morning.  I had no idea what they were until I'd took a couple of photo's and had a look in a bird book in the local library.  Apparently they are quite rare and sadly have since dissappeared.

Nice pics. They are usually either escapees or otherwise introduced.  Americsn birds, I always called them "Carolina wood ducks"
