We had a long weekend in Montpellier last weekend. I can highly recommend it for some autumn sun. Since last time I went they have introduced a bike hire scheme like the one in Paris where you can hire a bike using the same machines as you get tram or bus tickets from. The stands are all over town.
It's a good place to cycle with loads of people riding bikes of all types through the mainly pedestrianised town centre. There also seems to be a cycle path to the coast (about 5 miles away) and we saw hire bikes on this. Unfortunately non of my companions fancied a bike ride.
