Jupiter bivvi repair
« on: 31 May, 2020, 06:26:31 pm »
I have a old Jupiter bivvi bag that has got a few little holes and little tears where it got caught on  brambles when it was last used  I have emailed terra nova  but not got a reply. Nobby suggested sail repair tape. Any other suggestions? :)

Use a bin liner as an inner?  ;D

Gorrilla tape?

I repaired a 'crack' on the reflective bit of my jacket ( using 'Camo' pattern tape ). It's tougher and more resiliant than normal gaffer/duck tape.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Sail repair tape did a reasonable job on the floor of my Decathlon tent where it got punctured by a bramble.  Certainly a better long-term bet than duct tape.

https://www.scottishmountaingear.com   have a good reputation for fixing & modifying things, but I doubt they are cheap.....

A few years ago I had a slight stove accident, I picked my Trangia kettle up & managed to pour boiling water into the live burner.   Result was a melted hole in my groundsheet.  I fixed it with some flavour of McNett tape & it's still going strong.

My terranova tent came with some little repair patches to use if required I think?

You can get gore repair patches as well. Get some seam sealant as well and you are sorted.
