I'm seeing massive latency/packetloss on my EE backup LTE connection. Squinting at smokeping, it started at the same time that Facebook stopped responding to pings...

Meanwhile I assume the Facebook users are getting a taste of what it's like when your friends start living on Facebook and effectively disappear.

Yes, good time to switch to Signal. If anyone has a Young Person to hand, they'll report that Instagram is similarly afflicted.

Ideally we'd all be able to just point and laugh, but it turns out that far too much of the internet relies on Facebook in unintuitive ways.

facebook.com now responding to pings on both IPv4 and IPv6 for me. The web server seems to be sick though.

(The EE latency problems resolved themselves a couple of hours ago.)
