Passed my latest OU course (M381 - Number Theory and Mathematical Logic).

And the exam was harder than I'd expected as they've lowered the thresholds for the gradings (you normally need 55% for a Grade 3 pass and I only got 49%).

On for a 2:1 if I keep to the same standards, a 1st is still a possibility but I have to get a 1st in the remaining courses (unlikely).

MST209 and MSXR209 next year which should be easier than the last two 3rd year modules.

I had my first day in work (after 3.5 months of unemployment) and it went really well. Location lovely, the commute is straightforward and has nice little hills to negotiate and nearly all the staff cycle to work

A whole sack of good news there.  Are you one of Santa's WB's little helpers?   :)

Ahhh thanks guys for your good messages! And I was indeed one of Santas little helpers: we had the under 5's in today and we sang lots of songs (which was brilliant fun) and then my Director turned up as Santa

Oh, and one of the songs was:
'Zoom zoom zoom, we're going to the moon, zoom zoom zoom, we'll be there very soon' is now whizzing around my head!

Two bits of good news:

1. Got a tax rebate

2. A customer gave me one of those mini radio controlled helicopters for Christmas.  I've always wanted one.  I have been playing with it this morning.  Never, ever, EVER get in a helicopter flown by me.  You will die, quite quickly  ;D

I have decided to take the New Winter Hat TM out for its maiden voyage.  Currently it is in the furled position.  I am also giving my winter glove system a test too.

I just unwrapped my new Singular Peregrine frame.  Very nice.  I'm impressed that they've actually supplied all the bolts for the various mounting points for mudguards, carriers etc  It's a really lovely frame, very well thought out.

I just need to buy some rims, spokes, mudguards, carriers, stem, headset, crankset and then put it all together. ;D

It'll be something to do in the long dark winter evenings ahead. :)

(...along with putting the Galaxy back together, replacing the Freehub on the Kaffenback, servicing the Brompton, rebuilding the front wheel on the Pompino...)

Yes, I feel guilty of neglecting my Peregrine but I've decided to bring back my 'fake Dawes' singlespeed as well as it's such a nice bike. Watch this space tomorrow for the "How do I get this bike into this bag thread" ???
