PC went bang
« on: 10 July, 2008, 10:23:03 am »
Last night. Tripped out the fuze box.

Tried a new power lead, but still no worky. What should be my first port of call?  I am fairly inept electronically... I have a voltmeter but little idea how to use it.  New psu?

That's what mine was. There was even a flash. Nothing else damaged.

try a new psu. if it still don't work, might have also blown capacitors on the motherboard. not so easy to replace but can be done. or get a new motherboard.

I must admit I did wonder if a fuxe box was some sort of some sort of very interactive cyber device - like an x-rated X-box

Maybe Mr Pumpe just plain wore it out.

I was thinking more along the lines of the flux Fuxe Capacitor in Back To The Future.

Is a fuxe box something akin to a wanksock?

I'm baffled by this technical jargon.

What's a Wanksock?

From a PC blowing-up to wanksocks within a handfull of posts, who'd have guessed it.
