Don't forget you can sometimes have tv coverage from that site with live eurosport audio running simultaneously in english.

Thanks, dinamo, that's great to know - and I can pretend I'm back in Italy, listening to it!

Eurosport 2, with the best commentator combination. Harmon and Kelly. Let's hope the Italian editors refrain from using their box of tricks this year. They seem to like putting three different pictures on the screen, when honestly, one (of the action) will do. There was loads of gawping at Messrs Dolce and Gabbana yesterday!

Seriously? I can't stand Kelly, he makes me turn the sound off.

Really? He knows what he is talking about...

perhaps so, if I could work it out - he mumbles and drones and just does my head in

Right now he's talking about the differences between cycling in different countries and if you really, really listen... you can hear a really dull comparison when it could be really interesting! He's just not a good presenter, in my view - it's all very well knowing stuff, but you have to make it interesting!

and now! "who would you swap legs with" - could be interesting, funny, charming, but no... "well, it all depends what your ambitions are..." and he mumbles for ever.

Jesus, if anyone needs a cure for insomnia, Sean's yer man.

sorry, as you were, my dislike of SK is my own problem :-)

Perhaps some would prefer the return of Duffers?

Well, yes, of course... what sane person wouldn't ?

Duffers and Sean were the greatest duo since Sigfreid (sp ?) and Roy.

Have to agree with you Ariadne. That question about swapping legs was a classic example of what's wrong with Kelly.

The other guy however (can't remember his name), was very good yesterday. Watching on TV in my hotel room in Florence (alas too far away to be able to see the actual race live) had me giggling listening to the lookey-likey discussion.

Cav = Bingo from the Banana Splits

Classic.

I hope Cav gets one over Petacchi before the race is over.

SpaceBadger, you beat me to it! I was just going to put these photos side by side in Photoshop. You've got a better Bingo, I've found a better Cav - we'll take joint credit for this one:

Today, the link to Universal Sports is working... a good picture with English commentary -
without Sean Kellys' constant drone !  ;)

Know that area quite well, the run in is on the road below the old town in Bergamo.  Very lovely

Is this legal, to watch it like this?

Don't know, but from the Eurosport audio (my broadband isn't good enough for the Alternative 2 without pausing every 3 seconds), it doesn't sound like I'm missing much as the stage is effectively neutralised  :(

True enough. They all stopped on the line at the end of lap 6 to complain it was too dangerous to race.  Mine is stopping every 3 seconds now but I'm using a lot of PC memory doing other things so was wondering if that was why?

Sean, what was that again? Dirty riders in the peleton?  ???
Oh, I see... Thirty riders in the peleton.
