JohnT, just before you rush in with riding over on fixed so you have an idea what NH holds in store for you here is our route on Wednesday evening showing the profile of NH.
(Double for me & triple ascents for Oaky)

I think I should go and ride NH a few times as I have never ridden it yet... let alone 50 odd times this year

I'm around in the daytime next week.  I'll have to negotiate with mrs_o as we're into the school hols by then and we may be off doing family stuff, but I do want to bag at least 4 more ascents on my fixed (so that I can pretend that the target of 52 was for fixed ascents only ;)).

Oaky,
I can make any day other then Wednesday so if you can make it i woild love to give NH a try or two ???

I have been informed that I am free on Tuesday - so lets go for it ... how far do you want to ride?

Oaky,

40-50 miles with a couple of NH climbs if thats ok with you. I will drive over to Witham and ride with you from there. ( I assume you are Witham based).

*** FORWARD PLANNING ALERT *** (not that I give a to55  :demon: ) ...

Regarding the mini beer festival at The Compasses on Wednesday 21st, there is every chance I shall be there with not one but TWO beautiful womens!!!

Ever so sorry, a change of plan means we won't be at The Compasses on Wednesday.  Have fun folks  :-*

Bunch of slackers!

Is anybody going to be at The Compasses tomorrow night?  I'm still planning to be there (although mostly limited to soft drinks owing to taxi duties later in the evening).

Now do you see what chaos ensues when any forward planning is suggested on this thread  :hand:   ;)

On account of my lungs wanting to leap out of my chest every few minutes, without the assistance of NH but due to chest infection thingy which I thought MEMWNS rides had built up my immunity to, however, missing one ride a couple of weeks ago clearly lowered my defences - I am dipping out at this stage too  :(
Enjoy your OJ, Oaky

"I'm planning to go out for a few lemonades; who's going to join me?" is hardly the recipe for a good night out, is it?

You also need oil, silk, plastic drop cloths, ice, chocolate, and seaweed.

Apparently!  ::-)

I could be up for a little ride and pre-Christmas drink. I'm trying to persuade Mrs Tomsk that a wags night would be a good idea, especially as Dan's having a few mates round.

Blimey - might just be myself, possibly Tomsk and very possible Mrs Tomsk.

It's definitely preferred chez-Oaky if I make myself scarce for the evening, but reappear in time to act as chauffeur at the end of the evening, so I'll still be going along to The Compasses.

The lack of the usual liquid input should render the rest of the customers safe from my attempts at Carol singing anyway!

I reckon it'll be like Pavlov's dogs. It's so ingrained that coming back from the pub will mean a visit to the verge that'll he'll fall off anyway.

I'll be along tonight to the Compasses  Mrs Tomsk isn't too keen now, due to the responsible 'not drinking and driving' thing.

Cool , Tomsk, - I expect to get there about 9-ish.  I'm chauffeuring before I go out too, but will prepare the bike and don the gimp-suit beforehand so I'm ready to leave as soon as finished.  I have enough flexibility in my potential routes that I can almost certainly time my landing for around 9.

Bah Humbug! to the rest of you slackers!  :P ;D

Because we were aware that the mid-Essex Chapter were letting the side down this evening, Mrs. Wow, Dez and I visited the Railway Pub in Southend and confabulated with a variety of environmental campaigners.

It was a waste of time as far as I was concerned because I couldn't hear a word.

I got home about half an hour ago, after a pleasant hour an a half in the Compasses with Tomsk.  I need to report that I was seen drinking a half, and drinking a pint of blackcurrant and lemonade.

I shall, however, be back there tomorrow afternoon, freed from the shackles of chauffeuring, to sample a properly wide range of the offered wares :)
