I should be good for Wednesday evening and I don't think the weather is going to be too awful. How about one of the Feering or Kelvedon pubs?

I think I might make it, my Wheels are in Chelmsford and likely to be picked up today  ;D

The Sun in Feering might be good or if anyone is interested in the extra Distance the Crown in Messing?

I was also going to suggest the Sun! I'm almost certain I will make it - it depends on my client and the helpdesk chaps!

I should be good for Wednesday night.  Don't think I've been to the Sun in Feering or the Crown in Messing.

Smashing. I think I have a route already. I will have a look tomorrow and post it for approval.

Right then, second attempt, if any of you spotted my previous post with a route ignore it.

During November 2012, which was the infamous Dry November, we went to the Bell in Feering and largely followed THIS ROUTE from Witham, it passes the Sun.  What do we think?

I seem to have done a remarkable job of ignoring you, I didn't see your earlier post.
The route looks okay to me...IIRC by the time we got to The Bell we really needed a pint

I notice a suspicious looking wiggle around Stisted.  Is Madgements Rd an OD-special?

We didn't ride Madgements Rd last time, although looking at the satellite view it doesn't look too much of an OD special!

I did have a quick squint at it on streetview and was confused to see tarmac with no obvious holes ???

I'm pretty sure we used Back Lane rather than Madgements Rd because of OD's bespoke way of navigating a route with faerie dust waypoints rather than following the pink line of righteousness  ::-)

I haven't purposely added in any CORing although if we stumble across some quite by accident  :demon: I shall be well prepared as thanks to Wiggle's so called Priority Delivery [hollow laugh  ::-)  ] partner I will be astride Claud who is shod with nobbly tyres.

After taking SoO the Ribble's back wheel out on Saturday his rear derailleur problems have come back and won't go away again.  So I ordered a new one to arrive today which allowed for fettling tonight.  According to DPD's driver (s)he was met with a locked glass door when (s)he tried to deliver to Kirsty's shop - which is bolloxs.  They are trying again tomorrow so hopefully all will be well by the weekend.  Wiggle have refunded the fiver I paid for my Priority Delivery

Point of order ... There is no rule that says we have to ride all routes I propose or follow my GPS.  Although if we stopped both practices you lot would have about 72.76335% less stuff to moan about and 82.9887655% (approximately) fewer reasons to rip the piss  ;D

Think that Street View is from April 09....it could be a 'holey' different surface by now....

I'm happy with that route and my new Deore XT Hubs and A719 Rims will be a joy to ride on some OD navigation! (wee bit excited me thinks  ;D)

OD, any chance you are about pre ride tonight and that I might be able to swing by and borrow some garage space for a few minutes? My new chain is slipping (on my new cassette) but only when I am out of the saddle. Having looked at a few opinions one is that shortening the chain might be a solution and although I am not convinced I have a spare one so am willing to try to take a link out.

I have the tools but don't fancy making a roadside repair in case I drop something that is needed!

Yes, no problem. I should be home by 4pm. Back gate will be open.
