Ironic, really, that Alf survived the fall to open up a fruit shop in Weatherfield.

I have to say not many people around here share the film buff's nostalgia for one of the worst pieces of brutalist architecture ever inflicted upon an already depressed town. Gateshead has been woefully mistreated by generations of planners and architects and this only looks set to continue...
