Yes, fortunately.  Have to find out what variety, though - and maybe wash the bike, it looks as if I'd ridden through a farmyard. Nasty cold job.

A very cold 25 miles in bright sunshine to Grafham Water sailing club. Chill factor of minus 8 deg C at waterside. Feet like blocks of ice. Time for the winter boots. A lot of local villages and lanes are set to be concreted over due to development.

Fantastic winter light. A chilly 50km to Greenwich foot tunnel and back. Lovely.

Out to Cookham via Windsor with bjorn notp today. A puncture in the front left tyre and the rear tyre of the trice at the same time  :o on the way back. Rode home in the Dark  . Nice to get out though  :)

Cold, damp, overcast, misty 36k to test Trek with new derailleur & chain.  Nothing untoward happened - quite enjoyable. Roads & cycle paths filthy with maize harvest detritus, mud, horseshit, etc. So much for my nice clean bike.

One for the "Everybody Loves Saturday Night" album:

Nice neat job, though. And no, it wasn't me.

First time on the bike since Storm Arwen and our 6 day powercut.
Just an hour up the hill and back to check if it is time to put on the HotPogs (pogies).
It is!
Cold, wet and windy, but the snow is only on one side of the road now.
As the fog increased, I stopped to switch lights on.
A couple of lads in a car stopped to check I was OK, which was nice of them.

Bit of a frustrating day week at work, so put on the layers and headed out this evening for a local 30k to clear the head.  The cold breeze certainly achieved that!  Beautiful clear sky, plenty of stars once I got out of the worst of the light pollution. Came home feeling much better about life.

I did the usual cafe run on the Moulton F-frame.  The BB still squeaks, but it's easing.  Old rubber seals, I guess, as it's perfectly adjusted.

A short morning circuit of 14 miles or so in much warmer windy weather on the road bike and with winter boots, most enjoyable. We spotted this and chatted with the lady concerned, great stuff, a very nice person and possible occasional cyclist member of our pub group.

Shorter coffee-shop run this morning, 47k. Seeping cold, foggy, generally meh sort of weather.  Choc chip cookie was good, though.  Haven't ridden a lot lately, can feel it now. Wasn't fast, either.

Saw: red squirrel at limit of neighbouring village.  The tail is a good decoy: I saw this fuzzy red bundle running along the pavement long before I saw the body in front of it.  Also, on way home, a buzzard at the top of a fruit-tree with one wing draped over the next branch - dunno if it was injured or just airing its armpit.  Thought it was dead at first but it turned its head to look at me when I spoke to it, then looked away again. Dismissed by a buzzard, whatever next?  Maybe I wasn't dead enough to be interesting.

Longer coffee-shop run via the bumpy route, 85k. Lot of tree-trimming going on, had to stop a couple of times.  Saw a Great Egret.

A whole half mile or so, giving the long barrow its first outing yesterday.  Only ran into the kerb once.  I may offset the steering a touch, so that straight ahead with the bars steers slightly to the right.

68km on the Giant today, using it as a winter hack bike. Foggy/very low (this is TEH FENZ) cloud kept me slightly damp all round, and the skog on the roads from the beet harvesting was awful. Nearly came a cropper on a patch of leaf chutney, but managed to rapidly unclip as iregained control.

Down to town and back on the new! shiny! tandem trike. That was the first run I've done with a stoker. No one died.

Was out in the mist yesterday, plenty of eejits reducing their visibility with nae lights in, didn't see any near misses but did have to be informed by the polis where a junction was as their lights blinded me while they were dealing with a 2 car smash at that jct. near Doune.

Got above the clouds on glen Devon and the dukes pass though, stunning.

Probably should ha e stopped to shoot this but was cutting it fine time wise and I'd already built up a bit of speed.

Afternoon 27k, low sun in eyes, got fed up being blinded and turned home into fuh-fuh-fuh-freezing wind. Not fun at all. Roll on spring.

Yesterday: A loop around the forest.  Started out wet, got wetter & foggy on the high ground then really bunging it down on the home run.
