I came across this video on Youtube and thought of this thread - it is literally a desktop PC:

P.S. is it possible to embed a Youtube video in a post and if so, how?

I'm not sure that you can embed it directly, without first hosting it on your image hosting site.

However, you can link to it
Like so.
If you prefer.

ETA - on second thoughts, I'm not sure that it will work without clunkiness, if you embed it by first hosting it on your favourite image hosting site.

Elsewhere on this forum there are half a dozen short films, of me flying a Spitfire down to the south coast and back.
I've put these up on my flickr site.
I've linked to them on here using the initial shot of each film.
But when you click on that link/picture, rather than playing the film immediately, it'll take you to the relevant flickr page, where you have click on the 'play' button again.
So not embedding in any real sense of the word.
And earlier, I was most likely spouting nonsense.

Embedding is possible, but only works for the http version of the full YouTube URL, (eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Perqf0dOGLk)

Like so:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/Perqf0dOGLk&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/Perqf0dOGLk&rel=1</a>

The problem is that standards have moved on, and most browsers will refuse to load http content from a https page by default, so you probably just see an empty space up there, unless you override some security settings.  So it's generally better to post a link.

ETA: On examination of this post with the elephant inspector[1], it seems that it's even more broken than that.  It's trying to use Flash.
