Valerian
« on: 15 February, 2013, 09:11:39 pm »
My insomnia is now chronic, but before I slope off to my GP who will prolly put me on pills I'd prefer to try something more natural first. I've heard good things about Valerian. Has anyone any experience of it, and if so what dosage? I saw some tablets (90 mg) in H+B which stated '1-3 tabs per day'. Is that in one go or spaced throughout the day? No more info on the bottle. TIA.
Working my way up to inferior.

well apparently yacf'ers all sleep like babies ;)
I have no personal experience but my wife has used herbal stuff without much success unfortunately, but it may work for you, or you could make use of the extra waking hours :) good luck

Nevermind 'erbs, get a real drug...

Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride antihistamine (Boots Sleepeaze or Nytol) is effective and available without prescription.  nb. Meant for temporary use only.

+1 for biggsys suggestion of antihistamine.  Tesco sell'em cheap, just dont buy the non-drowsy ones....
