This is extremely rare, indeed it's the only such date this century.
He's not the only person to point this out but some go overboard, while only going halfway; saying it's a truly global, pan-format palindromic date, when it obviously doesn't apply if your date custom is to put the month as a word or in Roman numerals. Nor if you follow a different calendar, which is quite a bit of the world.
