Not got room in the stable for another bike but if I did I'd seriously consider this. Think I might try and sell my fixie and pick up one of these instead. For £500 this seems a cracking deal to me!

It can accommodate tyres up to 32mm (as per the fitting options) and probably a bit bigger

Comes with fulcrum disc wheels for an extra £200

Bb7 disc brakes instead of bb5s for another £100

Looks like decent value. Similar sort of specs to the Decathlon Triban RC 500, for £530. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-rc-500-disc-road-bike-black-sora-id_8554410.html
Depends on whether you want Shimano 2x9 or SRAM 1x11. And what colour you prefer.

I think I'll get the Triban RC 520, for £730. It gives better gears (2x11), and TRP HYRD semi-hydraulic brakes.

My mates getting that model of triban, it's a good looking bike. Unsure about how wide tyres it accommodates though, it comes with 28s not sure if it can handle chonkier.

Edit: it can handle 32mm sans mudguards, 28 with. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/road-bikes/btwin-triban-520

Interestingly it seems decathlon used to offer a Triban with Apex1 https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-540-road-bike-1x11-sram-apex-id_8402842.html

The geo might not suit, but the PlanetX XLA looks pretty decent value too 720 for Apex1 with BB7s and clearance for knobbly tyres.

That Triban 520 is an older model (without discs). The Triban RC 520 says 36mm tyre clearance, without guards.

You lot are spoilt for choice. Decathlon has a completely different offering in UK compared to France. I think they must believe in Brexit! (If I had the money to justify it, I would love to go into my local D4 and ask for one of the UK models - they aren't even mentioned on the french website)

Either that or they're desperately shifting as much stock as they can before the economy collapses and the cycle industry goes the way of scuba diving :Z
