There may have been traces of tailwind, but I went by the A road, and arrived at work very early. :)

Glorious ride in after an early site visit by foot. Sun was out and I was over dressed.

What a flyer in this morning

span out at 130rpm* on a slight decline. Lead to sub 25 minutes door to door for 10.5km despite a couple of red lights and a traffic delay when turning right from minor to major.

*42.5kph pressure from following traffic and stationary oncoming traffic preventing the overtake.

Rode in on a Friday which is unusual for me as i'm usually knackered by that point, especially as I had ridden the 20 miles back from Staverton via Gloucester city centre and edge.

Is it national drive like an utter twat day?

I only ask because my close pass quota seems to have been exceeded.

I rode in civvies today to our second nearest station, as my first meeting was in another town, beyond reasonable cycle commuting distance (and no opportunity to change).

Quite strange, really.

And I had the unusual experience of a bus passing so close to me that my mobile latched on to the on-board Wi-Fi.  Gits >:(

That's not really a measure of close-passness, thobut.  I irregularly see National Express and Megabus appear in the Unifi controller's list of nearby access points, and buses don't (or at least shouldn't) drive along our road, let alone through our living room.

(What's the opposite of wardriving?  War-staying-still-and-waiting-for-people-to-go-past?)

It will surprise nobody that after pedestrians with iPhones, the greatest source of transient access points is that well-known provider of independently contracted close passes, Uber.

Ha!  But I can't even get a signal when I'm sat inside the bus!

And it was an awfully snug pass.

Started well, a little chilly and then of all things a front wheel puncture.

No pump, so got lucky near some offices and got lent a pump.

Bit fed up, this is the second or third of this year already, despite m+ and I picked them clean only last week.

Nice morning, just hard to be motivated when you don't want to get where you're going. Forgot food and money, going to be running on empty for the return leg.

First time under 10 minutes at the summit of Quarry Wood Road and first sub 30 minute commute to work this year.

It's all about the weather

46 mins, sub 45 is getting closer, sub 40 feels like a long way off. Starting to get too warm for the shell, I wonder how Marj is doing with my lightweight windproof repair.

Not sure if it was setting off 20 minutes later than usual or the wonderful weather but there seemed to be a lot more people on the Kingston->Blackfriars route than normal.

Seventy Six!

No, not trombones, but the number of bicycles parked in our capacious secure space (shared between CCG & Council) yesterday lunch time.

And this morning, I saw loads of fellow cyclists on the Worthing side of the river, which has been a rarity up to now.  Tipping point with the weather, perhaps?

These days I'm happy, no happy isn't the right word but it'll do, with anything under the hour for 15 miles. A combination of ageing legs and having to get through Cirencester now the office is no longer on the home side of town.  Anything close to 50 minutes these days is treasured as something akin to miraculous.

I commuted in today, only the 4th time this year I think  :-[.
I was shamed into it by reading "This is what you did on this day last year" on Facebook. It was a Strava upload of my commute......

A late start (16.30) meant that I could take my time and enjoy the sun !
Coming home at 22.30 (I finished early ) wasn't too bad either.

I should ride in tomorrow even though I've got a lot of clothing to bring home for washing.
Perhaps if the sun shines and I take a rucsac.

Sub 50, the first time ever I think.  New bike or better legs? :)
Probably a bit of both!

tbh at times I do wonder why I bother, it's a little under 12 miles into the centre of Manc, so its far more about traffic lights than legs, taking it very easy today and caught greens most of the way.....46 mins

Hah! _Only_ 59 minutes work-bound today and 54/5 homebound. :D

More importantly, _much_ more importantly; the work-bound trip was in a lovely light mist and I heard my first skylark of the year.  Noted a marked increase in the number of lambs.

Saw my first '17 plate on the way home.  A black urban assault vehicle.
