Forbid yourself to sit down.  Stand on the pedals all the way.  You'll look a little strange so best remove the saddle so you have good reason to remain standing,people will think its been stolen.

or if you prefer to look cool, buy a unicycle = N+0.5.

Lash up a frame on a rear rack out of Dexion to hold a car Alternator. Drive it with the rear wheel. You'll have 14 Vdc to reduce to 5 Vdc for charging all your devices. Or mrcharly's portable P.A. system.

If you have quick releases on the brakes you could simply adjust them with the brakes dragging for the towpath and open the releases for the ride home.
