This awesomely terrifying piece of musical theatre always gets me shivering. I do believe ELO, of all people, used it for the 'spaceship'  prop on their  Out ofthe Blue' tour, especially from 7:58 and

More Britten. the opening piece is utterly mesmerising (sea interludes)

Old Dmitri S and the butchery of the year 1905. As used h Schindler's List to awful effect. The original piece was about 'Cossacks' and peasants, but it fits so well. The full orchestral event begins with a folk song and ends in eerie calm. Always leaves  me shivering. from 20 minutes on, the second movement., then from 35 mins for the Schindler bit. to me, the celeste from about 37 minutes almost eclipses the utter savagery of what goes immediately before.

Finally, some really advanced-for-its-time pipe playing, a tune I spent years mangling on my mandolin, from a late master.

Yeah, I do know that none of them are songs!
