A few of my images (I really need to get the hang of photographing a moving target close up)-

Jo Rowsell going for gold

Laura Trott preparing for a glorious performance in the omnium elimination race-

Her Canadian opponent- (Edited for reasons that will become apparent in someone elses later post)

(If someone can give me a hint how to sort the orientation out, I would be grateful. it is the right way up on my Photobucket page, but I did have to rotate it)

The seats are really tight to the action-

Ben Swift in the omnium TT-

Ben had an excellent ride in the omnium scratch race BTW, something not yet mentioned here.

I'm sure this is the last bend in the keirin final. Sir Chris really did make up that much ground to take it :o

Why I need to improve my close action work. Jess Varnish taking her sprint heat onn the line-

Can someone more knowledgeable than me explain how Forstemann managed to get the jump on Sireau in the bronze medal race of the men's sprint?  Was the Frenchman just looking the wrong way for a fraction of a second?

"overhaul" it, or you can ride it.  (Jerome K Jerome)

It's just not usual to use that tactic. It's not illegal or anything but it goes against the usual etiquette.

He did the same thing to Chris Hoy in Copenhagen at the 2010 Worlds and got a mighty push at the start from his holder-upper. Chris made the mistake of chasing him when he should have either sat up and cruised round or fallen off within a few metres of the start to get a restart!

I have ver much disliked Forstemann with his freaky physique since that day.

Don't be daft, you didn't mess me about.

Yes a very enjoyable weekend despite my quibbles with the velodrome.

Doh! Course she is. I had a long day that day (up at 05:00 and home at 00:30) followed by a Sunday suffering the Mother of all Headaches so I will blame that for my schoolboy error. I beg Tara's forgiveness and head straight to my post to edit :-[
