The weather looks glorious outside

I'm stuck in the office with a teleconference later.

If the teleconference is in the same office as you, isn't it just a conference?

I have attended teleconfs where all participants are int he same office, sometimes just desks apart.  I very much doubt I am alone in having done this.

When the other end of the conference is in Muscat and another middle east location it was most definately a teleconfrence.

In that case the teleconference wasn't in the same office as you, only a bit of it was. :P

If a teleconference is to be thought of as having a tangible presence at all, then it's clearly going to be in some server somewhere.

Hurrah: I haz a new "Integrated Network AV Receiver".  Or "amplifier", as we Luddites call it.  And as a bonus it comes with labels for cables

Bah: The Fucking Manual is:
  • 220 pages long, and
  • in PDF format

Do you gronks at Denon have any idea how long it'd take to print that on my cranky old grid of a Canon inkjet ???

Also I'm still waiting for the new loudsqueakers so there's no point in spending a whole day rolling around on the floor with Anbaric String between my teeth only to have to do half of it again when they do :(

We have a Denon AV.

Every time I need to change a setting I have to refer back to teh manuel. And learn it all over again.  >:(
It is simpler than it looks.

Of course you aren't alone. For you to be alone, you'd have had to be in all those teleconferences by yourself.  ;D

Why did you do that? Why not just get together & talk?

GN: The no longer Magenta Mercian is on its way back from Derby.

BN: They did it a lot quicker than they said, so none of the bits are ready to go back on it.

GN: scaphoid is still healing and there are now signs of union  <- I can actually do this with my right hand now!
BN: Still have to wear a cast for at least another fortnight

GN: I've been OK'd to drive and I've had a 'custom' removable cast made for that purpose (insurers are OK with it too)
GN2: It's a hell of a sight more comfortable than my wrist brace but that's not entirely surprising.
BN: I still have to wear the bloody thing

GN: I'll finally be able to pick Pugsley up from the LBS - it's only been there since the beginning of September.
BN: Probably won't be able to ride for another few weeks although turbo'ing is now possible again.

Overall, a definite   (one for each hand)

Pugsley on the turbo ???
No, although it is tempting :)
The singlespeed is currently on the turbo but I've not been able to ride this past fortnight as extended effort was making my wrist swell which, in turn, was making the cast unacceptably tight. The new cast has adjustable straps, so I can slacken it off a wee bit prior to starting my session.

Once I'm properly out of plaster and into the physio stage then Pugsley will be the bike of choice for a while - the cushioning effect of clown tyres will be very useful, I suspect.

GN:   I have three days now where I can get on with a backlog of paperwork in the office.    :)

BN:   The pile of paperwork is quite large.   :(

Is it pink again?

Il postino left a large box today. It has arrived.  The extras I asked for cost a bit more than I thought.  It is very very lovely.

It is not magenta. It is the opposite.

Pics later.

GN: managed to produce the first decent espresso on my new machine, about a cm of dark swirly crema.

BN: it was a freebie Moka that came with the grinder, and tasted like a corpse's armpit.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

BN:  I've been waiting over an hour for our builder to not turn up.

GN:  Just went to the kitchen and spotted the shadow of someone pottering about on our roof cast against the neighbours' wall.  He must have sneaked in the back somehow.
