Cross Keys at HP sounds good. Plenty of beer garden seating for a warm summer's evening

I think the lockdown jacket may be deployed if sitting outside.

Any requests for Wednesday? As it almost seems like summer's here, maybe somewhere with a decent beer garden and a view of the sunset?

I’d be up for a western venue

The Axe & Compasses, Aythorpe Roding has a beer garden, though it’s on a bit of a busy road. The only other places I know are in my neck of the woods, which is probably a bit too far west!

Yes, the Axe and Compasses did spring to mind as I recall watching a good sunset or two from their beer garden. If west is best then it's about time we returned to the Three Horseshoes at Duton Hill, which has a beer garden with a view over the Chelmer Valley - not sure how far to the setting sun it faces though ... Lets see who else is out tomorrow.

Happy with the Axe and Compasses, in case anyone from a non-western location is out.

It looks like I may be able to get out again this week.

Anything mid Essex would suit be better for getting home at a semi sensible time.

Yesterday the Prince Of Wales was suggested for Wednesday, perfect for a  DIY audax I would have thought ;)

Ok.
That's too far for me, 70 miles on a week night.

I'll stick closer to home.

I should be able to pop along if there's a western meetup

I’m at a work event this week. Unfortunately as the proposed Hatfield Broad Oak venue would be quite convenient.

Eddington: 133 miles    Max square: 43x43

I will see if I can engineer a visit to HBO this Wednesday.  Dukes Head I presume?

Yes, Dukes Head. Although next time we visit HBO (and I can make it!) I’d propose the Cock Inn once more, as I believe it is open once more.

Is anyone thinking of a launch at The Roundabout of Prodigal Sons tomorrow evening with a view to riding to a not too distant pub?
