whilst a lot of Audax posts seem to be an arena for insomniacs the TG forum offers an opportunity for the early risers

I can anticipate quite a competition for the 31 Dec entry first posting  ;D ;D
....after the `tarte de pommes`, and  fortified by a couple of shots of limoncellos,  I flew up the Col de Bavella whilst thunderstorms rolled around the peaks above

Then south to Buckingham and a general Marsh Gibbon direction before veering south east. But as his calendar suggests a Gloucester bed tonight, there's still hope for an outward bound MG.

Crossed my mind that we're talking of Steve now as if he's the n° 9 bus: no longer marvelling at what he's doing but just wondering where he's going.

Every single day he's out there is bloody wonderful. I wish I had a tenth of the stamina.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Looks like a double Marsh Gibbon loop. Mr Teethgrinder, you are spoiling us.

The Double Gibbon today could possibly have extended the rules of Gibbonism.  To be doubles, triples etc. they would need to be done consecutively.  A Double, Single will be a loop on the out with a pass through on the way home.

The permutations are endless. I suppose a double, double therefore (2:2) should be known as a Desmond?

I'm not sure, but Steve might be going for the double of Marsh Gibbon and Malmesbury in one ride.

I see no reason why that shouldn't happen. Particularly as he has just exercised the "Avoid Swindon" manoeuvre.
It is simpler than it looks.

Has the Double Gibbon disappeared from the track??

I think there is a maximum number of track points downloaded, so the route becomes simplified as the day goes on.

I'm testing a way round this, by saving the track points to a gpx file throughout the day - you can preview this here:

Planning to add this to my alternative tracker when I get a chance.

Strangely, ‘The little book of Mornington Crescent” was co-written by Graeme Garden and Tim Brook-Taylor, while ‘The Funky Gibbon’ was written by Bill Oddie.

Anyone own a trandem?

Also, Teethgrinder did one PBP on a tridem, as ridden by the Goodies.

The next thing we’ll hear is Kurt’s supporters are singing:-

“Here we come,
Cyclin’ down the street.
We get the funniest looks from
Ev'ry one we meet.”

Riding a pink and white candy-striped fringe Surrey quadricycle borrowed from Disney Resort, with a large “Go Kurt” banner on the rear.
