It was that cold in rural Oxfordshire yesterday that I actually saw a Tory with his hands in his own pockets.

Today, sunrise occurs before 8am (7:59:52 to be as precise as I can) at my latitude and longitude. This is progress.

0821 here about halfway up the country (England). It's going in the right direction I suppose.
30th Jan is the first pre 8am sunrise

Still 0812 over here in the Capital of the WoE. If I lived in the Far Eastern Seaboard, I'd probably get something done in the mornings.

It was lovely and sunny here today.
It felt lovely in the kitchen. When I ventured outside thinking I might eat my lunch out for a few minutes I quickly changed my mind and came back in.

Very soggy* near my grate frend Evil Frank's place in coastal Oregon. US-101 closed due to a landslide, adding four hours to a one hour drive along the coast.
* even more so than usual

Apple Watch says -3º here in dampest Somerset. Not going outside to check the real thermometers.
Considering how much water there was all over the roads yesterday evening, I am very glad working from home is an option.

-6C here in Rural Bucks at the foot of Tring Hill. Car doors frozen shut, very hard frost to scrape, and ice on the inside of the windscreen for the fisr time in years.

Phone says -2 for sunny-for-once E17. Not going outside to check the veracity of this claim.

was -7 in the cambridge 'burbs at 5.30 this morning, and quite icy where the drains are blocked and roads flooded through granchester. The river was b. e. a utiful as the sun came up in Ely, although as one of the rowers is a bit splashy, this is the rigger behind her after a 90 minute paddle

F*ck me the heating is struggling here.
Currently showing as -2°C outside.
Indoor heating has just breached 17°C having been given full speed ahead for the past four hours.
