I'm in! I've got early access to Pottermore! I'm living the dream! Unfortunately it's the dream of an 11 year old. Next stop, buy some Justin Beiber albums and play with some Lego.

I was nattering to my sister yesterday. It has just occurred to me that in one afternoon she said that she might consider camping (so long as the campsite had decent showers and loos), thought that this clipless malarkey sounded eminently sensible, that she's now got a rack (although she will take it off for the fnrttc) and that credit card touring rather appeals.

I think we have a convert.

I have no idea what Gerald is on about.

I have no idea what Gerald is on about.

Neither did I, I'm pleased to say. Research reveals that it appears to be some sort of virtual existence in Harry Potter's world, for which a limited number of early access opportunities exist of which Gerald has one.

"early access opportunities to a virtual world"
Why does that make me think of Logan's Run?

I had a job interview this morning (it was due yesterday but my back has been bad) for the role that I am temping in, and they called me back after an hour and offered me the job

After 2 years of redundancy, unemployment, agency and temp contracts it feels a great relief to be back in full-time employment. Plus the people I work for are truly brilliant and the library is lovely.  :)

Excellent news HW!

Yay!

(Apart from the taking the rack off bit.  That never ends well.)

On reflection, as we have not heard from him since, perhaps my optimism was misplaced.

Actually, even though I can cycle, I haven't yet. :o

I'm house tidying today, so covered in dust and dirt, and progressively filling bin liners up with rubbish.

At some point I must have a quick shufty over the commuter, and make sure it's fully working for first thing tomorrow!
Actually, it is rocket science.

I've been given a date and time (Monday, 1330 hrs) that I must attend $PRESERVED_RAILWAY to be assessed in the post of Signalman.  If all goes well, I can drop the word "Trainee" when I answer the phone.
Well, I passed, but the assessor wasn't too convinced that I really knew my stuff; had this been the "real" railway, it would probably have been back to the classroom.

OTOH, where he and I disagreed on the answer to something, I've been back to the rulebook, and found I was nearer right than he was.

Off-topic: Sunset over the Malverns is spectacular.  Huge black cloud, sun peeking out below.  Throwing a shadow of the train onto the fields, with the wheels and underfloor stuff clearly visible.

I've not been banned from riding PBP!

I didn't really think I would be, but it's nice to know I'm unlikely to do long term damage to my ankle by riding it. I forsee a fair amount of physio in the near future though....
