I've just been asked to be the tenor soloist for the area choir's Easter choral recital :D
Cool! What are you singing?

I have upgraded my phone contract. For £10 a month I now have unlimited internet access, 1200 minutes of phone calls and unlimited texts. I think that's pretty good.

And more to the point, is the bandwidth unlimited?
Unlimited access ≠ unlimited data allowance.

Thanks to the ASA, 'unlimited' as applied to internet connectivity now means pretty much whatever the advertiser wants it to mean.

They also redefined 'up to' to mean "some percentage of customers will get x" rather than "the technology will do x if conditions are sufficiently favourable".

Attempting to redefine the Highway Code is relatively minor in the list of their crimes against common sesne.

It's my stepfather's birthday in a couple of weeks. He'll be 70.

For his present, he has been off to his local shop and ordered himself a new road bike, which will be crowd funded by the family.

I think that's great
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

The rather jammed bottom bracket on my Harry Quinn frame, which was holding up the refurbishment, has been freed and removed by my mechanic. He also fixed the 8-speed Sturmey Archer set-up on my Brompton.

I shall now have the HQ frame powder coated next week. RAL 4005 blue lilac, should you want to know.

TBH, I was more pleased about the Brompton, so I didn't ask too much about the BB. It didn't involve too much force, as the whole shell is untouched and the threads are undamaged. He said it was a devil of a job & when I asked if it made him swear, he replied emphatically in the positive.

Exactly!

There's a place in Northumberland called Mounthooley  :smug:

We could start a new thing - Mounthooley-bagging.

If there's only two it'd be shit though.

But, actually, rather interesting - and possibly more easily bagged by bike than the one in Northumberland.
