Well the boss has mentioned that magic phrase 'garden leave' again since as of friday i have no lab and no office till somebody finishes building both. He's off to speak the BIG boss man.

Just booked some time off.  By combining the Easter weekend with the Royal Wedding/May Bank Holiday weekend, I get 11 days off but only have to take 3 days of annual leave.

Looks as though we'll be off to France.

+1  . . . but I have to work Good Friday and Saturday.

The snowdrops, and a few crocuses, are out around the city walls.  And the daffs are going to burst into cheerful sunshine-y yellow-y goodness any day now.

So very soon, it's going to look like this

I just took my bike to W.S. Atkins LBS in Leamington Spa. Not only was the bloke there approachable, he came back with a figure for the work I was asking them to do of about 70% of my estimate. I'm looking forward to riding my newly disc-enabled commuter with lowered gearing on Friday morning, and to having a dynohub with reliable wiring!

Crikey, are they still going?  I had an  Atkins tourer about 20yrs ago, made in the back of the shop they had (still have I guess) in Coventry.  :)

I suppose I had to console myself after losing the fight between the Fatbirds online ordering system and my high-maintenance reject-everything-and-lock-self-down-despite huge-credit-limit credit card.

Funnily enough I had exactly the same problem with fatbirds, but I phoned them and they were able to take the card over the phone and give me the same offer price as on the website.
The glow in the dark pomp looks like a great bike. If I had the guts to try a fixed that is the colour I would have gone for  ;D

Yep, still going, BUT the repair/workshop bit is run by Broadribbs. For various reasons I shall post in the reviews section - when I get the bike that is already a day late - they seem a tad disorganised.

Thanks. I think I've made a good decision. Here are pictures. It will take a rack and mudguards, so I won't need to use the LHT as a commuter.

How are you doing, Lindagordinho?

On the mend, thanks  :)  Not back at work yet, but shouldn't be long.  Bruises are nearly gone.

Arsene Wenger, Charlie George, Bob Wilson, George Graham, Denis Bergkamp, Bertie Mee - Your boys took one hell of a beating!

Well, not really, but it's been 48 years since Birmingham City won anything meaningful, so forgive me my boast. I've never seen them win anything proper so I'm not sure how to celebrate :)
